Briargate Preschool is having a lot of fun while raising a lot of funds.
Students and staff participated in a fun run on Sept. 20, 2018, raising money for STEAM materials, such as scientific equipment, paint and math supplies. STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts and math. At the preschool level, students use supplies such as baking soda to learn concepts about science.
Eighty preschoolers braved the September heat running laps in the EAC parking lot while collecting a rubber band for each lap. The preschoolers ran more than 2,000 laps, ultimately collecting $1,800.
“It’s a great way to get kids out and running, and they get to run with their friends and get some exercise and it’s different from just playing on the playground,” said Donna Ribisi, preschool teacher
Briargate Preschool would like to thank all those who supported the fun run, the only fundraiser the school participates in annually.
